Meant has entered the crowded GLP-1 weight-care market with a telehealth platform built around LegitScript certification, a credential the company says supports compliance and can open advertising access on Google, Meta and other major platforms. That matters in a sector where visibility, trust and regulatory scrutiny increasingly shape which services can grow.
According to the company’s announcement, Meant does not itself diagnose patients or write prescriptions. Those decisions are handled by OpenLoop Health, whose licensed clinicians operate across all 50 states and make the final determination on whether a patient qualifies for treatment. The company says that patients who are not suitable for GLP-1 medicines are still offered coaching and a supplement kit.
The platform’s launch comes as obesity treatment has become one of the most competitive areas in telehealth. GLP-1 drugs such as tirzepatide, sold as Zepbound, and semaglutide, sold as Wegovy, have driven strong demand, but they also carry safety considerations that the US Food and Drug Administration says should be weighed carefully through Medication Guides and provider oversight. In that context, LegitScript certification functions not just as a compliance marker but as a practical requirement for digital marketing and platform access.
Meant is also bundling a proprietary supplement kit into every plan, a structure that raises questions about the programme’s clinical value and commercial logic. The key test for the business will be whether its coaching model produces measurable benefits that justify the extra cost, or whether it becomes another layer in an already crowded market for weight-loss care.
