Nicole Gourley brings over 18 years of experience to her new role at the National Diabetes Trust, aiming to strengthen the organisation’s support for Diabetes Canada’s wider mission and expand its reach across Canada.
National Diabetes Trust has appointed Nicole Gourley as its next president and chief executive, with the change due to take effect on 28 September 2026. The organisation said the move comes as it looks to strengthen its role in supporting Diabetes Canada’s wider mission and deepen its impact across the country.
According to an announcement carried by Diabetes Canada and GlobeNewswire, Gourley brings more than 18 years of experience leading mission-driven organisations in Canada. Her previous senior roles have included positions at Circular Materials, Foresters Financial and GS1 Canada, giving her a background that combines commercial oversight with operational management and partnership-building.
Colby Miller, chair of the National Diabetes Trust board, said Gourley’s experience in building teams and forging relationships would be central to the trust’s next phase. In the organisation’s statement, Miller also pointed to her mix of strategic, operational and purpose-led leadership as an asset for expanding the trust’s reach and supporting Diabetes Canada’s work.
Gourley said she was honoured to take on the role and looked forward to working with staff, the board and partners on what the trust described as a sustainable path for growth. The organisation also thanked Tim D’Souza for serving as interim leader and said he will return to his previous post as senior vice-president of finance and business operations at Diabetes Canada.
