Riham Said reveals her recent diabetes diagnosis, attributing it to prolonged stress and personal hardships, highlighting the impact of lifestyle and emotional well-being on health.
Television presenter Riham Said has said she has been diagnosed with diabetes, linking the illness to prolonged stress and what she described as repeated hardship. In a message to followers, Said said she had endured injustice and professional obstruction before adding that she had “got diabetes” and leaving the matter in God’s hands.
Her comments drew attention not only because of her profile, but also because stress and major lifestyle disruption can coincide with the onset or worsening of chronic illness. Diabetes is a condition in which blood sugar levels become too high, and Cleveland Clinic says common warning signs include excessive thirst, frequent urination, fatigue, blurred vision, unexplained weight loss and slow-healing wounds. In type 1 diabetes, symptoms can appear quickly, while type 2 diabetes may develop gradually and go unnoticed for some time.
Cleveland Clinic also notes that low blood sugar, or hypoglycaemia, can cause shaking, sweating, dizziness, confusion and weakness, while more severe episodes may lead to slurred speech, loss of coordination or loss of consciousness. Health experts say anyone noticing possible symptoms should seek medical advice promptly, as early diagnosis and treatment can help prevent complications.
