Madrid’s Diabetes Run returns with 10K, family walk and children’s races

The 13th annual Diabetes Run and Walk will bring thousands of participants to Parque del Oeste on 15 November 2026 to raise awareness, fund research and support Diabetes Madrid’s educational work.

Madrid will turn blue on Sunday, 15 November 2026, when the Association Diabetes Madrid and the Novo Nordisk Health Foundation stage the 13th annual Diabetes Run and Walk in Parque del Oeste. The event is timed to coincide with World Diabetes Day and is being presented as one of Spain’s largest solidarity events focused on diabetes awareness and support.

The programme combines something for a broad range of participants: a 10-kilometre race, a 5-kilometre race, a 2.2-kilometre walk and children’s races. According to Madrid’s regional and city event listings, the adult races are scheduled to start at 9.30am, with the walk following at 11.30am and the children’s events at 12.45pm.

Organisers say the aim is both practical and symbolic: to raise public awareness of diabetes while helping to fund research and the educational work run by Diabetes Madrid. The association is also encouraging teams to sign up together, with a trophy promised for the largest registered group, regardless of which race or walk its members choose.

Registration is being handled online through the Deporticket platform and remains open until 12 November 2026, or until capacity is reached. Official regulations state that the event can accommodate 3,999 adult participants and 600 children. The association has also appealed for volunteers to help with race bib collection on Friday, 13 November, and Saturday, 14 November.
